{It’s In the Little Things} Sheridan, Wyoming Wedding Photographer

A few weeks back I shot a wedding in Malibu, CA with/for my friend and photographer Kamee.  I am so grateful to have been not only invited to shoot with her (she’s amazing…check her out if you haven’t already!) but to get in on this incredible, INCREDIBLE wedding day.  Their day was filled with sentimental treasures at every turn that reminded you just how in love they were and just how much love went into the planning of their big day.  An entire table of framed photographs full of their memories together thus far lined the wall of their reception room, a table adorned with jars of homemade jam served as wedding favors, their incredible engagement pictures were blown up as a reminder of their relationship and hung for guests to see; truly, everywhere you turned there was a sentiment of sorts that could bring you to tears.  Sigh.  I should really start carrying a box of kleenex with me, but I digress.  Needless to say, this couple had it all.  The love, the details, the beauty and everything that let’s you know they are in it for all the right reasons.  Perfect for each other would probably be an understatement.

The bride getting ready and looking beyond stunning…from her shoes to her dress and flowers, the day was nothing short of chic…their first look was adorable and perfect, just the two of them (and us two little paparazzis)  =)…their chemistry undeniable…and heading off to the ceremony…the groom could hardly contain himself as his bride walked down the isle…and officially Mr. & Mrs…  =)the reception details were unbelievably beautiful…even with homemade jam for every single guest…and back to the happy couple, truly, meant for each other.  They are too cute…I just feel so grateful, humbled and happy to have been a part of such a beautiful day – Helen and Glen, you are made for each other and I was so very blessed to be a part of your wedding!!!!  And to Kamee, you know how I feel about you my dear.  ;)   So much love coming your way!!!

xoxo

{Lucky: A Sneak Peek} Sheridan, Wyoming + California Wedding Photographer

I’m not so sure it’s luck, perhaps more like destiny or divine placement within each others lives.  Not only are they beyond adorable together and completely and tangibly in love, but I felt entirely lucky just to be there with them, to witness their vows.  Their day was perfection.  For me personally, I was also feeling grateful to be shooting alongside my friend,

Kamee June.

Kamee asked me a while back to come and shoot this wedding in Malibu, CA with her, and I couldn’t have asked for a more lovely scene, lovely weather and a lovely couple to photograph with her.  I have this longing to be a CA girl, and being there with Kamee just made my fever that much worse.  =)  We discovered a friendship that seemed to have been there for years, and we not only shot the wedding together, but spent the weekend laughing, eating and shooting everything imaginable together.  =)  LOVE HER.  And I miss her.  I wish I could transplant myself off and on throughout the year, just to rub elbows with this incredibly generous, kind, giving person…who also happens to be unbelievably talented!  A big thank you to her for inviting me!!!  xoxo

And back to H & G, here is just a peek and I will be back with many more!

{Mr. & Mrs Mendenhall: A Sneak Peek} Sheridan, Wyoming + Montana Wedding Photographer

So there happened to be a little wedding on June 5th.  And it was one incredible day filled with love, tears, laughter and so much joy.  Oh my goodness.  I am wading in images, smiling at their connection, and *still* feeling all that sweet emotion that comes with marrying your best friend.  When you spend time with these two, you can absolutely *feel* the love between them.  And their entire wedding was lovely, subtle, magical, kind and perfect in every way.

The big day started with some very dark skies that had me wondering if the ceremony would survive outdoors, but then the sun decided to make an appearance and the rest of the day was beyond perfect.

Echo did all the planning herself.  And the details were beautiful!

Flowers: Babe’s Flowers |  Venue: Eaton’s Ranch |  Dress: David’s Bridal |  Hair: Kayce Richmond

and a big thank you to my friend and assistant that day, Trish Conrad!  xoxo

all the girls getting ready:and when it was all said and done, the bride was breathtaking…meanwhile, the groom wasn’t looking too shabby either…and in reality, there was no “first look” to meet each other, as he helped her get ready and their closeness couldn’t even be separated on their wedding day.  ;)   And I loved that about them.

And when the ceremony began, the words and the combining of their families was enough to even make the photographer cry!:celebrating as a brand new family:and after the ceremony, I stole them away for a few of just the two of them…and then these two kicked off their shoes and danced the night away…=)I wish this incredible couple a lifetime of unbelievable happiness – you both deserve it in every possible way!!!

xoxo

{Catching Up} Sheridan, Wyoming + Montana Wedding Photographer

I am alive…8 days of vacation, a car purchase, rounds of kiddy amusement park rides, and a flu bug later – I’m here and so excited to share a little sneak peek with you!  I’ve had so many of you contacting me about a certain wedding preview, and yes, I am furiously trying to get some images ready for the blog!!!  =)  I shot a beautiful, beautiful wedding last Saturday with 2 people that couldn’t have been more perfect for each other.  I’ve truly loved every moment I’ve gotten to spend with these two and cannot wait to share more images from their big day!  After last Saturday’s wedding, my family and I left the following morning for a little vacation in CO and just returned home today.

And so…I am swamped with 4 orders in the ol’ inbox, tons of emails to respond to, a family session this week, and this fabulous wedding to proof!  Let’s just say it’s going to be a crazy week.

And so, because I am bleary eyed and recovering from the flu, I will leave you with just a few to tie you over.

Many more to come on the blog in the next week!!!

Thanks again to you two – your day was AMAZING and I can only imagine your life together will be just as incredible!!!

I’ll be back soon with more!  =)

{Meant For Each Other} Sheridan, Wyoming Wedding Photographer

This morning it was cold, blowing and far from the “perfect” day for an engagement shoot, but I can tell you that these two are perfect for each other!  =)  I met them at the location of the wedding and had so much fun getting to know them a little before their big day and exploring this amazing property!

I can hardly wait for their wedding.  From what I can tell, it’s going to be an incredible celebration and I’m so darn excited I get to be a part of it!

Cheers to this couple!  I am so excited to share this *little* sampling with you!!  So many more where this came from!  =)

{Even Her Pout} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographers

is more than adorable.  Well, most days, that is.  =)  After a much needed break, I’m so very much looking forward to playing with my camera again, especially to capture my own babies as time flies by.  I have been completely engulfed in two things: cabinetry and vampires.  Ha.  I am half way through the Twighlight series and am absolutely. completely. hooked.  I won’t know what to do with my evenings when the last page is read, but I’ve very much enjoyed getting back to one of my many indulgences: books.  I love them.  I just wish I had many more hours in my day to complete all the things I’d love to pour myself into.  But for now, my loyalties will remain with my children, my um, vampires, cabinets (that are still not quite completed) and my upcoming clients!  I’m so looking forward to 2010!

and one more from this “outdated” set taken a while back…I hadn’t played with some of these, and I was experimenting in Photoshop tonight, so let me know your thoughts on these two.  ;)

************And the website is now updated for 2010…finally there is some current work in my galleries!************

I couldn’t seem to do a screen capture from her site (and didn’t want to bore you with a text-only post!), and so I thought I’d share one quick detail from that event.

{Sweetness} Sheridan, Wyoming Engagement Photographer

I met up with this sweet couple yesterday to get some shots of just the two of them, no kids, totally low-key, laid back and a little bit country…before they get married next summer.    Sometimes you can just *feel* when a couple is in love – and these two were all that and more.  You can see the admiration, the love and the respect they have for each other by spending just 45 minutes with them.  And I can hardly wait to photograph their wedding!  I know this woman is going to be a STUNNING bride and that her day will have some spectacular little touches.

So, I have been on this vintage-kick over the past 6 months or so, and while I LOVE LOVE LOVE the soft, romantic look to many of my images, there are those that scream color…and well, many of these did just that.  I also loved the classic feel of the black and whites, so I guess there should be a little something for everyone in the mix.  ;)   And I had the hardest time narrowing these down for a blog post – they were just so dang cute!!

Thanks again to this duo; I am so excited for your big day!!

Speaking of big days, we just finished up my little man’s birthday party and we all had so much fun.  I took him in for his 2-year-check today and all was well…except that he had an ear infection we didn’t even know about.  I guess maybe there is a reason for his suddenly 2-year-old behavior after all??  ;)   I won’t hold my breath, but it did make some sense of the nightly wake-up calls and general crankiness that has blessed our lives for the past week or so.  ;)   Needless to say, this kid has so much to be proud of – from being potty trained for a few months (this was all him, not me!!), counting to 14, learning his ABC’s and some phonics, an incredible vocabulary and the sweetest little nature to boot (okay, there’s definitely some spice in there too!) – this kid melts me.  Yes, he can be your typical toddler who hates to share, lashes out with those pinching little fingers when things don’t go his way and is too quick for his own good, but the sweet kisses, constant cuddles and the kind little heart makes up for every moment of being “terribly two”.  ;)   I hope the 2′s slow down a little bit – I’m already missing my baby.  ;)

{Jessica Claire Workshop, Part 2} Sheridan, Wyoming Wedding Photographer

I’ve been excited to share some of the images of the beautiful couple I had the pleasure of photographing last week in California!  Again, the workshop was incredible and it was such a pleasure to learn from Jessica Claire.  I really feel like I learned so much and I can’t wait to put all the knowledge to good use.  =)  A word to prospective wedding clients: the details, ever-so-small, can make all the difference in your photographs.  Investing in the details and creating an overall look to your wedding, whether that be a Hollywood vibe, a vintage look, or a “theme” that shows who you are as a couple – as a family – will create photographs that you will swoon over for years to come.  The other most important detail is the timing of your event so that I can put you in the best light (literally) and create artwork from your images.  At your pre-wedding consult, we will discuss all these things and more!

I wanted to thank Gena and Jeff Patten again for being so incredible to work with!!!  You could tell that they were soooo in love and were so sweet on each other.  So fun!  Here is a “small” sampling:

Thanks for looking, and please feel free to leave a note!

And in other exciting news, a new logo is just about ready.  New branding, new marketing materials, a fresh beginning for 2010!  =)
