{A Girl Can Dream} Wyoming Photography
Just had to post quickly about a SWEET give-away over at EPIPHANIE!!!
They are hosting a give-away for either a 5D Mark II or a $2500 certificate to Southwest Airlines!
WOW. I am crossing all my fingers and toes for this one. Head on over to enter!!
And because a post isn’t a post without a picture, I thought I’d post something that reminds me of spring. As if the grass-green paint I just rolled on in my kitchen isn’t enough to give me spring fever, this is one of my very favorite things about summertime!!!

I
keep telling myself that spring is just around the corner, when really, I’m in complete denial that we may very well have two months left of winter here in Wyoming. Ah well, the kids will be running around in their swim suits, popsicles in hand soon enough - I can’t wait!

{Waiting on Spring} Sheridan, Wyoming Child Photographer
The past week has been filled with coughing, vomiting, fevers, sleepless nights, mile-high piles of laundry, lots of cuddles and more than our fair share of goobers. And so even though we saw the doc one last time today to make sure neither of the kids had bronchitis or pneumonia, we now must endure and wait anxiously for Spring. I threw all cold-air caution to the wind (literally) considering the degree of cabin fever we have, and took them out to ride their bikes this afternoon. And between pouring snot and coughing spells, I got the above shot that just makes my heart swell.
I was up all last night with Jackson, tending to 104 degree fevers, vomiting, repeated breathing treatments and lots of hot snuggling. Although having sick kids is miserable, there’s something so endearing about a sick baby - it just melts my heart. In the mean time, I’ve been snapping away the left-over smiles. Seriously, I have no idea how children continue to play and smile and laugh when they are as sick as they’ve ever been. Last night Jackson could barely breath, was blazing hot and lying next to me in bed; I started singing to him and he just sang right along, as if he was dutied to do so while he stroked my arm, as if I needed comforting. So adorable.
Here are a few quick shots of the little man of the house:

I was supposed to have two boudoir sessions this afternoon, but had to cancel them, unfortunately. Hopefully we’ll be able to reschedule soon and I will be back with some previews! Until then, enjoy your week!

{Sick Baby} Sheridan, WY Photography

My sweet girlie is sick. Really sick, actually, so I am heading off to take her to the doctor in a few minutes this evening. This was a quick snapshot yesterday as she napped on the couch with her daddy - he’s probably going to kill me for posting it, but hey, I’m not sure he ever even reads this thing! haha. Guess that’s what he gets, right? ;) I have been pretty MIA around here lately, but sessions will resume next week, so there will be plenty of eye candy to come! I will also be back soon with a before and after on the kitchen…it’s almost done. Sigh. Truly not something I would ever willingly take on again, but it will be rewarding when it’s finally finished. Hope you are well and thanks for stopping by! =)

{My Valentine} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographers
I am lucky enough to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my tiniest significant other - and I’m perfectly okay with that. ;) My husband is cute, don’t get me wrong, but what is seriously cuter than this precious mug? (Yea, I know I am surely biased. But that’s okay too.) =)
Yes, I think I’ll take a date with him anytime! My hubby is at work this week and this morning it’s just been Jackson and I. And he truly is the best little date ever…with the exception of putting random objects in his mouth, covering himself in stickers, blowing spit bubbles for fun, insisting on wearing ear plugs and parading around in snow boots, one blue and one hot pink, I think he’s a perfect Valentine.
We ventured out this morning to get some fresh air, and he was determined to wear MY hat. Yup, he’s wearing a girl hat and was actually wearing two different boots that belong to Sophia, but hey, he’s cute anyway!! haha.
Again, please don’t judge the hat. LOL

And a few snaps of our current scenery…nothing to write home about, really, but it’s all we’ve got after months and months of freezing temps!! =)

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

{More Sugar} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographers
As promised, here is a little more of my sweat pea (although I’m sure you will notice there’s a bit of spice with that sweetness…hehe). Enjoy, and have a fabulous weekend!
This is her idea of a photo shoot: Hmmmm, wish I looked this cute from behind. =)

(Oh, and did she fool you? She wasn’t really sleeping, but is vying for her academy award! hehe)

{Even Her Pout} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographers
is more than adorable. Well, most days, that is. =) After a much needed break, I’m so very much looking forward to playing with my camera again, especially to capture my own babies as time flies by. I have been completely engulfed in two things: cabinetry and vampires. Ha. I am half way through the Twighlight series and am absolutely. completely. hooked. I won’t know what to do with my evenings when the last page is read, but I’ve very much enjoyed getting back to one of my many indulgences: books. I love them. I just wish I had many more hours in my day to complete all the things I’d love to pour myself into. But for now, my loyalties will remain with my children, my um, vampires, cabinets (that are still not quite completed) and my upcoming clients! I’m so looking forward to 2010!
and one more from this “outdated” set taken a while back…I hadn’t played with some of these, and I was experimenting in Photoshop tonight, so let me know your thoughts on these two.

************And the website is now updated for 2010…finally there is some current work in my galleries!************

{An Affinity for Cows} Sheridan, Wyoming Child Photographer
This morning, my kids and I explored a property owned by a neighbor of mine, who has been gracious enough to loan it to me for my sessions. And to my surprise, our outing was really only about one thing: the longhorns and the cows. I assumed my children would be terrified, never having been up close and personal with a cow, but no, they wanted to pet them! Yikes. I wasn’t sure how close to get or how to make the bulls back up, but between the mooing, the piles of manure, the blowing of bubbles (with spit, of course), squinting eyes and a fair share of pouting, my kids and I survived. =)
Here is the little miss doing her best pose (without plastering her cheek to her shoulder like usual):
And Jackson concentrating very hard on blowing the perfect bubble:
They then discovered a hole in the barn where they could peek at the cows…quite thrilling I gather for two small children never to have stepped foot on ranch or farm:
And then they began to make their way around the barn to play with us: =)
At this point, I wasn’t sure whether to run or keep shooting…and so I kept shooting. LOL.
Jack inquisitively checking them out:
and Sophia thinking they’re quite hysterical:
And when I asked for one simple photo together…for them to give each other a hug or even stand in the same vacinity…Jackson was entirely opposed to the idea as all he wanted to do was chase cows!!!
When I’d had enough of the manure piles and attempting to keep some distance between my overly confident 2-year-old and the curious bulls, we made our way home in tears because, well, the cows were just. so. much. fun. =)

{Happy New Year, Part 3} Wyoming Photographers
Whew! I think this will be the last installment of this *little* series - next year I think I’ll just incorporate a slide show! lol. I spent the morning trying to get a few snaps of my own kiddos, and well, let’s just chalk it up to entertainment! I will share those with you tomorrow - photographing my own children always seems next to impossible for me as they never look at me, they have their own agenda entirely, and one cannot seem to open her eyes without squinting!! Sigh.
Anyway, here is the last installment of my 2009 in Review. A word to potential 2010 clients, bookings are filling in for Spring and Summer, so if you are interested in a session, please contact me early!
Onto the images…
First off, a family from Montana who traveled here for their session - we had a blast and I fell in love with their little one!!!

Next up was a fun pair of twins and their sweet parents:
A very fun senior who made my job so, so easy:

An opportunity to contribute to THIS beautiful little organization by photographing these adorable bumps and babes:
One of my annual, best, sweetest clients ever!!!:
And one of the most adorable babes I’ve ever laid eyes on!!:

I think that sums up my year: AMAZING clients and so much FUN! Thanks again, and I’m looking forward to see what 2010 holds! =)
I may be back this afternoon with some of my own…or if my cabinets entice me, it may be tomorrow! Have a great day!
