{Casting Call} Children’s Commercial Photographer, Sheridan WY
A very talented lady contacted me a month or so ago, wondering if I’d want to photograph her handmade hats and dresses for sale through her adorable business:
Ummm, yes please! And so she stopped by last week with a pile of beautifully crocheted hats and handmade pillow-case dresses in the most darling fabrics to adorn some beautiful girlies. So fun.
And although I rarely have my children “pose” for pictures – that’s just not me – Sophie and I did take advantage of the day we had our blizzard and decided these would fit the bill. She’s so NOT into modeling, (although she wanted to help me out with this one, sweet thing) you would laugh if you knew the measures her daddy was going to in the background and how ridiculous we were as she fidgeted away, begging to be finished. hehe.
Anyway, I am working to build a portfolio for Marcie, with Noggin Knots, and thought I’d have a little fun with it…I’m looking for a 2-3 girlies, aside from my own, to be the cover girls!
Here is what I need:
(ages are approximate as the dresses are made to fit loosely)
Baby Girls size: 12 months ::: 18 months ::: 24 months
To be eligible, you must leave a comment here with interest letting me know what size your little one is, and be willing to sign a model release allowing the images to be used on her website and mine.
All entries are due by May 24th (2 weeks from now!) and 2-3 winners will be drawn randomly from each size category. No pictures necessary – this is for fun!
Free session, no min. purchase. You may buy prints at 20% off if you choose once the proofs are released. All sessions are “mini” in size, meaning 15 min. or so.
Are they yummy or what?!!
STAY TUNED FOR SOME SWEET GIVEAWAYS COMING SOON HERE ON THE BLOG!!!

Looking forward to hearing from you! And don’t forget to check out all her cute things – go buy something and treat the little girlie in your life!!
Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing mamas out there!!!
{Renovations} Sheridan, Wyoming Photography
I’ve been wrapping up my winter project these past few weeks: our kitchen. We purchased the house I grew up in last May and kicked my parents on out.
Kidding, they have a lovely home just walking distance from us, so we’re not far and I think we’re all happier in our new digs. I had dreams for this kitchen, but when the estimates for new cabinetry and such started coming in, I knew I was about to undertake extreme home makeover…on my own (with a little trim and install assistance from my dad; THANK YOU DAD!). =) And so I started sanding and painting and sanding and painting, and three months later…I’m finally done. Whew am I glad that *little* renovation is behind me, and now I’m ready to just settle in and enjoy our summer.
I’ve had so many people ask for pictures, and so I thought I’d share some before and afters. The only thing left to finish is the trim along the top and bottom of the back splash – you can probably see that it’s just sitting there unpainted. Otherwise, I’m home free! Literally. =)
Here are the before pics (top two were from before we even moved in):

And after:

Let me know what you think! (We were debating between green and black on the back splash so let me know your thoughts!)
I now have a bathroom and a studio to start on…maybe I should snap some pics and send it in to the HGTV network or DIY show.
Perhaps I could win a room makeover and save myself some suffering! haha.
Anyway, I have a very busy lineup for sessions ahead, so I look forward to sharing them with you here! As always, thanks for stopping by!

{Creating} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographer

So, I’ve always loved all things textured, colorful, unique and different. I am like a 2-year-old when I walk into a baby store for one thing only: all the delicious blankets with all the stitches, the yarn and the feel of it at your fingertips. Sounds ridiculous, I know. Please don’t find me in the yarn department at your local store, or you may have me hauled off! =) My best friend has helped me learn how to knit, and so I’m giving my best effort at creating fabric and making some things for my kiddos. (But, please don’t tell anyone I’m still less than half-way through Jackson’s baby blanket…and we won’t mention how old he is.) =) But I think my real love is fabric: I adore it. For all the same reasons I love yarn, but I love that sewing is so much quicker – I am the kind of gal that needs quick fixes, quick projects and a quick end result because. I’m. impatient. =) I love seeing something created from nothing – quickly – and so my goal while I have next month to myself is to make something…anything…maybe even just one thing, as often my ADD kicks into high gear and I end up with 42 projects going all at the same time.
I have an entire binder of patterns of everything from bibs to dresses. And I’m getting excited to put something together. What are you creating?
I was also wondering what your favorite fabric lines are?? (You can email if you’d rather not leave a comment.) I have found the Amy Butler line locally, and also love Sandi Henderson fabrics. Would love some suggestions!! =()
