{Sweet Light} Sheridan, Wyoming Family Photographer

I have been trying to get Part Two of this family’s session up on my blog for days, but unfortunately some sickness and other lovely things came my direction this past week.  My little man is back in the croup season and I am, well, tired.  ha.  Poor kid can’t seem to escape the middle-of-the-night wake up calls, the seal-like barking, and the inevitable fight for oxygen.  We ended up in the ER many times last winter, but have become wiser with Albuterol and Pulmacort; thank heavens for modern-day meds!!  We’re surviving, nonetheless, and I am finishing up Christmas cards, orders, albums, and the like in the meantime before I can step back from the computer and just ENJOY my Christmas this year.  =)

Anyway, I was so excited about these images.  I just love the interactions, their beautiful property which will someday house their new home, and the LIGHT.  Oh, sweet light.  I will admit I was fighting with the sun that day as it shifted constantly during our session; one minute I’d have everything set up in this beautiful spot while the sun was tucked behind the clouds, and before I could even press the shutter, BAM, blinding sun!  I think we worked it out though.  Aside from the unpredictable sun and the cold temps, I think we stole away some very beautiful moments.

And perhaps my personal favorite from their session: (does this not represent every single family with little children?!)  I am a firm believer in “perfectly imperfect” photographs as these are the REAL moments we want to remember with our children.  With our loved ones.  At least these are what I want to remember when I’m 80.  ;)

***AND IN THE SPIRIT OF THANKSGIVING…***

If you’re so inclined, let me know which image is your favorite in the comment section below, and I will give this family a complimentary 8×10 of whichever one is mentioned the most!  =)

Thanks to this fun family, and I should be back this week with some pictures of my own kiddos.  I got a present from Santa today and so my girlie and I went on a photo adventure this afternoon.  {{LOVE HER.}}  =)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

{Welcome to the World: Special} Sheridan, Wyoming Birth Photographer

Nothing is more exciting and monumental than welcoming a new life into the world; and having those beautiful and fleeting memories captured on film can make it that much sweeter.  I’ve recently had the privilege of being invited to photograph the birth experience for two special clients, but as luck would have it, neither one worked out at the very last moment.  Last night one of my clients welcomed her precious babe in record time as I was driving to the hospital!  =)

What does birth photography entail?  I will come to you, whether you are having a home birth or a hospital birth and capture this incredible time in a creative, documentary and sensitive way.  I will be documenting the interactions between your spouse and children, some of the laboring experience, and of course the welcoming of the new baby!  My style is entirely unobtrusive and documentary in nature so that you can labor peacefully with me in the background; in fact, you may not even know I’m there.  ;)

And so, because this is an avenue I’ve been wanting to pursue for a very long time, I am running a special! I am now taking bookings for February (and beyond), and the first 2 ladies to book a maternity and/or newborn session with me will receive FREE birth photography (as well as a complimentary brag book of the event)!

Book now to take advantage of this offer!  I can’t wait to meet you and your sweet babe(s)!

{Serenity} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographer

Today I photographed a beautiful family of five with three bustling, busy and gorgeous kiddos.  Their ages: 4, 1 and 1.  But the kicker is the one-year-olds are not twins; you do the math!  =)  Suffice it to say that this stunning couple rarely has a moment of peace.  lol.  And so I stole them away for a few moments (we won’t play the audio of what was transpiring in the background, lol) and this entirely beautiful image transpired.

When I got home and began downloading their images, I saw this one and my heart skipped a beat.  I am just in LOVE with this shot.  Perhaps one of my all-time favorites, although every session I have one or two that speaks to me in a deeper way.

Isn’t she lovely?!

I will be back next week with many more from this session.  But until then, have a fabulous weekend!

{Cozy} Sheridan, Wyoming Family Photographer

When my hair stylist asked me to do her family pictures a few months back, I assumed there would be fashion.  But I had no idea just how much style there would be.  lol.  And so when I arrived and saw this little cutie:

I was just a bit giddy.  You simply can’t go wrong with Hanna Anderson, darling boots, a knitted hat and the cutest smile to boot.  Not to mention mom and dad were pretty darn cute themselves!  Granted, it was a freezing-cold November day in Wyoming, but this clan breezed right through as if it were nothing.  Even the Little Miss was such a trooper, and I’m so glad we accomplished these in time for the holidays.

They have some very incredible family stuff going on at the moment, and so these images were their Christmas present to themselves.  =)

When I asked her what she was going for, she chose an urban location and mentioned she wanted “a pottery-barn look that’s still warm and fuzzy.”  I can do warm and fuzzy.  And I love Pottery Barn.  And I have a feeling this is just what she envisioned!

And her laugh?  Seriously the cutest I’ve EVER seen; she would start to giggle, and proceed to cover her mouth and eyes in the most endearing way – I was laughing just watching!!!And the family wouldn’t be complete without their HUGE Labradoodle, whom I found utterly adorable.  We have a Goldendoodle who seems to be heading in the same out-of-control-size direction, so I had to laugh.

I have more cute dog shots, but I realize I have just posted far too many images for any normal human being to actually look through.  I guess that’s what happens when you have such a great family with a fun dynamic who CANNOT take a bad photo.  Their gallery is going to be overflowing to say the least.

As for me, I’ve been a bit MIA for a variety of reasons, one of which was having a wisdom tooth pulled.  The pain wasn’t so bad, but the procedure done with a local is one I would rather not repeat!!  Lets just say: dental anxiety + horrible tooth sounds and ungodly pressure on my jaw = one very frightened woman.  lol.  I think I prefer childbirth.  Or I could just be one very big wimp, not sure!

Regardless, I had so much fun proofing these photos today and I hope this family loves them!  And if you’re still reading, leave them some blog love in the comment section!  Have a great week!

{Legacy Ministries} Sheridan, Wyoming Photography

I was excited to be able to give to this incredible organization, no matter how small the contribution of a photograph may be.  Legacy Ministries is a resource that our little town, or small community has needed for so long – and you can already see the fruits of their labor.

Meet some of the beautiful women who have been given a little hope and a little encouragement as they became mothers to these beautiful babes – some outside and some still inside the womb!!  =)  I was only with these ladies for a few short minutes to get this photo, but I enjoyed meeting every single one of them!

Here is a photograph of most of them together, with their permission, of course!

Please make your way over to Legacy Pregnancy Center and support them in any way you can!  Their mission is to “offer hope, help and restoration for those who are at-risk of, or are facing a crisis pregnancy.”

Have a happy Sunday!  Oh, and please leave these girls some blog love – I see tons of visitors on my site the past week or so and would love to know who you are!  ;)

{Those Eyes} Sheridan, Wyoming Senior Photographer

This afternoon I met up with this sweet girl and her mom for a quick senior shoot – we hiked around in this beautiful little spot and snapped away.  I must say, I have never seen anyone with more beautiful eyes – they were incredible!!!  I barely touched them in PS as they are gorgeous all on their own.  =)  Thanks so both of these ladies – I hope you enjoy them!

Have a fabulous weekend!!!  I plan to enjoy the weather with my peanuts before winter sets in for the next year.  ;)

{Tinkerbell and the Lion} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographer

Halloween was quite exciting this year for my kiddos – Jack was finally big enough to care and Sophia envisioned her role as Tinkerbell weeks in advance, practicing her “tinker skills” by calling me on the phone and asking me what I had for her to fix that particular day.  Oh my imaginative monkeys.  I wanted to post some pictures of the Lion in all his roaring glory, and Miss Tinkerbell in all her fixing-fabulousness for the grandmas who are missing my posts on our personal blog.  I think the time has come to simply shut the other one down and accept the fact that I am only one person, and I cannot keep up with 2 of these.  lol.

Hope you all had a very happy Halloween!  (Yup, I realize I’m a little late with my post, but it’s been a busy week so far!!)  =)

My Lion (the big 2-year-old, although he likes to tell you he is now 3):

And Miss Tinkerbell:and this next one is a pose all her own…I think she’s seen the movie a few too many times…And that’s that.  Up next: Thanksgiving and then the homestretch into Christmas.  And so I will try to find my Christmas-y spirit when all I really want to do is get back into our swimsuits, play in the pool and eat popsicles.  Summer was not nearly long enough for this girl.

I was SOOOO EXCITED to discover some of my images from Jessica Claire’s workshop were featured on one of the most popular and stylish wedding blogs out there: Style Me Pretty!  In case you aren’t aware, Style Me Pretty is a nationally renowned blog that caters to all facets of the wedding industry from brides, designers, photographers, wedding vendors, and basically anyone and everyone who adores stylish goodies!!  A big thank you Abby Larson, for choosing to feature a few of my images – I am so honored, humbled and thrilled to be among such talented photographers!!!

I couldn’t seem to do a screen capture from her site (and didn’t want to bore you with a text-only post!), and so I thought I’d share one quick detail from that event.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

{Going Places} Sheridan, Wyoming Senior Photographer

When I meet polite seniors who are so kind and genuine, it actually makes me dread the teenage years of my own kids a little less.  ;)   I always get incredible seniors to work with, and this guy was no exception.  =)

Thanks so much to this guy for spending 30 minutes (yup, it was fairly painless!) with me – and to his mom who was so patient in waiting for an opening in my schedule!!
