{My Heart} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographer

In case you wanted to meet my heart, here it is all wrapped up in this colorful, vibrant, spirited, sweet, funny, intelligent, adorable little package:

I think this was her 4-year-old attempt at hiding from me?  Not sure really, but this series (even with some minor focus issues due to all the giggling) makes my heart skip a beat.

I also loved this one:

My baby turns 2 tomorrow, and I will try to pop in with a few pictures of the very proud Birthday Boy.  We’re having his party next Monday so that his daddy can be home to celebrate with us.  His party would not be a party without plenty of bugs to go around - pretend bugs, spiders and tiny insect cakes.  Should be lots of fun!  ;)

{Boys, Boys, Boys} Sheridan, Wyoming Maternity Photographer

When my husband and I first found out we were expecting a baby - and after the shock wore off - in my mind, I could only see myself with boys.  All boys.  I think secretly I dreaded the drama, the pink EVERYTHING, the tears, the boyfriends…well, you get the idea.  And so, after our ultrasound about half-way through the ordeal, we discovered we were having a baby girl.  GIRL.  The first thing my husband said in the car on the way home (with eyes the size of saucers) was, “This is going to be expensive!”  But within moments, the shock wore off, and the beautiful reality set in as we anxiously anticipated the arrival of our sweet girl.  And it was amazing.  And then our boy came along, and he was absolutely amazing too.  And you know what??  I learned that God has a plan all His own that is so much bigger than ours - so much better than ours.   ;)

And so when I met up with this glowing mama the other day, she exuded complete confidence as I photographed her tiny baby bump (even though she’s due in just a few short weeks) all the while her two boys swirled around us.  And the thought of another boy on the way didn’t seem to phase her - and my memory of wanting all boys came rushing back.  The point of all this being that no matter what we’re given, each and every little person is just. such. a. miracle.    I am so excited for her and for her to be surrounded with all her boys.  =)  Congratulations to this family - I cannot wait to meet the newest little man!

This first image is my absolute favorite from our session:

I loved both the color and bw on this next one…which do you prefer?
I’ll be waiting to hear about your little man’s arrival!  Have a great week everyone!!  I will try to post again with possibly a few of my own babies, one of which turns two on the 29th!!  So incredibly hard to believe.  Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

(More Baby Love} Sheridan, Wyoming Newborn Photographer

As promised, here are a few more of the beautiful little girlie from yesterday!  My husband keeps telling me I’m only allowed to do these sessions as long as my baby fever doesn’t overwhelm me and cause me to start asking for more babies.  ;)  We’ll see.  Who knows, but it’s pretty hard not to get a wave of “baby fever” when perfect little people like this show up at your front door.  ;)

I couldn’t decide on this one between color and bw…
As an artist it’s always fun to hear which image happens to be the favorite, so let me know which one YOU like in the comments below!  Either that, or just leave a little blog love for this sweet family!!!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

I wanted to also say thank you to this family - this was their third session this year, and it’s been so much fun watching your family grow and change!!  =)

{Miss Vivian} Sheridan, Wyoming Newborn Photographer

This is the Beauty I was lucky enough to spend my morning with!  Her mama and I tested out the light in my new house and chatted while the little Miss fought hard against going to sleep.  She decided sleep was overrated and instead, much preferred to eat her morning away.  Who doesn’t prefer that?  ;)  And so, we waited patiently.  Until the very end when we got this:

I have a million and one images to get through, but this one kind of jumped out at me and I wanted to share really quickly.  Stay tuned for many more to come in the next few days!  I have a maternity session in an hour, so I need to get ready for that.  It’s going to be a full weekend with a senior session on Sunday, but that’s fine by me.  ;)  Just grateful to be busy and given the opportunity to do what I love.  Have a happy weekend!!

{More Sunshine} Sheridan, Wyoming Family Photographer

Today is going to be all about relaxation for our family after a visit to a new church this morning (which we totally enjoyed!) and will hopefully include a nice walk with the puppies, a home-cooked dinner and for me…an afternoon to catch up on the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy.  ;)  You see, since my cable company has decided to rudely withhold ABC from me this year, my Thursday evenings are just. not. the. same.  I don’t have many addictions, with the exception of my Internet, my camera, snuggles from my babies, an overly-sweetened cup of coffee and a good laugh, but Grey’s is secretly on my list.  =)  Now I must accept the fact that I will be watching this entire season on a tiny little screen displayed within my laptop.  I guess the bright side is that I can watch it in the comfort of my bed??  Hmmm.  But then comes the neck crick.  Well, I digress.  Grey’s will be a little smaller in size this year, but it seems to be a good storyline so far!

I wanted to share a few more from my family session yesterday - this mama wanted a little bit of urban funk and some warmer, earthier pictures too.  I think we achieved the perfect balance.  ;)

Thanks again to this super cute trio!!  I, too, look forward to many more sessions with your family!  And I should be back with a newborn session this week sometime - just waiting to hear from the mama.  =)

Oh, and a friend of mine told me today that she hasn’t been able to leave a comment - if you are having issues, please let me know so I can address it!  Thanks, and please feel free to leave a note - I love knowing who has stopped by!  Happy Sunday!

{A Little Sunshine} Sheridan, Wyoming Family Photographer

A little sunshine around here can go a long way for us that are living in what appears to be the arctic!  Oh, welcome sweet sunshine, I have been missing you.  After an entire week of snow, we finally have fall back, just with a little less color due to the muck left behind.  But hey, I will take whatever I can get.  And when you throw this GORGEOUS family in the mix of beauty and warmth, you just can’t go wrong!

It’s late and my hubby just got home after a week away at work (he had a pet project of his own, so I’m not feeling too guilty just yet), so this will be a quick peek before the preview to come.  Check back tomorrow for a full post of this sweet family!  They came from out of state this afternoon, and I just want to thank them for coming just for this - I cannot wait to show you what we came up with!!  =)  It was so nice to meet you!!

{Collage/Storyboard} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographer

I wanted to share a quick Storyboard/Collage that arrived in my mailbox recently for a client.  I often have clients asking what exactly IS a “Storyboard” or a “Collage”, and this is exactly what it entails.  Multiple images combined into one photograph with a clean, simple layout.  I typically try to keep the images I include to a minimum, although I’ve designed a few where more images adds to the feel of the piece, but simplicity really is key when creating art such as this for your wall.  All Storyboards are mounted and sprayed to add protection from fingerprints, light, dust, etc.  The spray not only adds to the longevity of your image, but also allows for display without glass - the very best part!  No glare and no diversion from your beautiful images.  I’ve had mine hung for a year and they’ve never even needed a dusting.  =)  Well, maybe they have and I just haven’t noticed!  I’m realizing lately I perhaps need not only an assistant, but a live-in maid!!  A girl can dream, right?  Anyway, I hope this answers some questions and I will try to do a better job of sharing albums and other specialty products made available through Alissa Ferullo Photography!

{So Much Love} Sheridan, Wyoming Family Photographer

I’ve been blessed just to watch this incredible family from a distance at our local church, and when she asked me to photograph her family, I was so excited to do just that - to document a collection of moments between their group of seven.  I already knew they had a unique family, but to be able to spend a little time with them and to see the dynamic between them all - to see how much love there was to go around, I was inspired.  Oh how I love my job.  =)

It was also a fun session for them because they just welcomed their newest little man into their family a few months back - Mr. G.  He was full of laughs, hugs and cuddles - serious sweetness.  Oh, and did I mention that the three oldest are triplets??!  Yup, they sure have an incredible setup.  =)  So I can’t tell you how happy I am that we made this happen - before their move and before the snow moved in!!  Thank you to this family for being so welcoming, so warm and so FUN - how could your pictures not be gorgeous with not only five adorable little people, but enough love between you all to light up the entire room?!  Here’s what we came up with:

and the two ultimately responsible for all this cuteness:I’m off and should be back with some upcoming sessions of all varieties - if the weather cooperates.  All you in Wyoming know what’s been happening here - SNOW, snow and MORE snow.  =)

{Wintery Fall} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographer

The fact that we had about one week of fall before the snow set in is such a bummer.  I’ve already had to start postponing sessions and containing the kids, which is the hardest part of winter for any mama.  Seriously, I grew up here so I understand that Wyoming thinks winter needs to last for at least 75% of the year, but I thought we were supposed to be having global warming?!  ;)  Kidding.  But I am yearning for more fall, for beautiful leaves and cool weather…not the current 22 degrees!!  And the thoughts of playing on Laguna Beach just weeks ago is making me miss it more than anything.  I just want to go back…tomorrow!  Here is a quick picture of my best friend at sunset:

I was remeniscing about our trip and thinking about all the laughable moments we had.  I must say, I learned a few things in only 2 full days in California:

1.  Beware of old, sweaty men who turn to you while waiting in line at a convenience store and say, “You are so cute.  I really like you.”  Um, thank you kind sir.  I feel so much better about myself now!

2.  If you can’t find an easy entrance to the beach, DO NOT attempt climbing down from an overpass in the dark wearing a skirt and flip-flops with absolutely not a thread of traction left.  You might find yourself hanging onto tree branches for dear life, having your friend have to heave you back up the steep slope with one hand on each cheek, and taking in the stench of the city’s sewage site.  The not-so-beachy experience!

3.  When ordering at a restaurant and your waitress is wearing hot pink tights, look out.  After you placed your order of one salad each and you cross the line to order an appetizer of chips and salsa you might get the following response: “Are you girls starving to death or something?  You sure are ordering a lot of food here…can I get you a smaller plate of chips?!?”  Seriously, neither one of us is overweight, thank you very much.  But we appreciate your attempt at keeping us slimmer.

4.  While bending over looking for seashells on the beach, DO NOT stop paying attention to the tide and the waves.  One might just come along, pick you up, place your feet above your head and body slam you.  All the while your bikini-clad body is bleeding, the wind is knocked out of you, and you aren’t sure weather to laugh or cry (I did both).  Oh, and your best friend is trying to save you from being sucked back out by the current and laughing HYSTERICALLY.  I think we laughed until we couldn’t cry anymore following that little escapade.

5.  Drivers are INSANE there.  Stay in the company of a friend and make sure your GPS is ACTUALLY plugged in.

6.  The Fraggles are back in town.  Hey, when you combine humidity, salt water and lack of time with curly hair, well, you get the picture.

7.  Bathrooms in flight are absolutely disgusting.  Oh, and they make sure to let you know that the water coming out of the sink is not drinkable.  Thanks for the warning.  Can anyone say “recycle”?

8.  When you are desperate for a cup of coffee and decide to make a run for it downstairs at the hotel, not all pajama PANTS are viewed the same way.  One gentleman actually told me I had “very fashionable panties!”  Not sure where he was from!

9.  Do not discuss your babies at home while you are 1,000 miles away.  The missing can ruin the moment.

10.  But no amount of missing can take away from the millions of laughs, memories and fun we had.  =)  Love you, Em!

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

And back to the cold front.  Here are some pictures I took this morning on our walk in the freezing temps; the kids didn’t even care, they just wanted outside!!  =)

I’m not sure why, but I love this picture:
and of course, the kids complaining at each other momentarily…Jack wanted to walk the dog, and she wouldn’t let him:one of my favorite pictures of Jackson; his big pouty lips and big beautiful eyes (no, I’m not partial at all): =)she was so busy walking the dog, she didn’t really want me taking her picture (please kindly ignore the bed head poking out from under that cute hat):getting tired of walking…he was in the stroller a minute later: =)and my little miss trying to throw snowballs at her mama…she seems to think inflicting any kind of “harm” on me or her dad is quite hysterical:And if you’re still reading by this point, God bless you!  =)  I will be back with a family session that’s been just waiting to be blogged - one of my favorites of ALL time!!  Can’t wait to share!

Stay warm!

{Red-Head Beauties} Sheridan, Wyoming Family Photographer

Over the weekend, I had two incredible families to work with (one session was cancelled due to SNOW of all things!) and I am so excited to share some of the moments we captured!  This first family traveled several hours to meet up with me, and we really had such a good time with dreary weather and big clouds aside.  I must admit, it was COLD, and I was so worried about red cheeks and runny noses, but seriously this family was awesome and even the little ones hung in there!  =)  I actually went to high school with this gal (back a ways…ahem) and it was so much fun to meet up with her and to meet her BEAUTIFUL children!!  (Hubby was great too!!)  Seriously though, have you ever seen more beautiful red hair in your life??  Such cuties!!  Here is a slew of images from Saturday - there were so many great ones it was next to impossible to select some for the blog!

Thank you to this family for coming all that way and making this happen!!!

I will be back this week with some fun images from a family of 7!!  =)
