{Sweet Volunteer} Photography Mentoring + Classes in Wyoming + Montana

I got to reconnect with a high school classmate through a mentoring session recently, and enjoyed every moment with her!  She doesn’t yet have a website for me to link you to, but she is absolutely talented and heading for great GREAT things in her business ventures!  Sonya, thank you for coming all that way for a session with me, and I hope it takes you to new heights in your photography and new direction with your business plans.

We also had a lovely model to work with, and to her and her mom, a big thank you for coming out!!  We appreciated it so much and M, you are absolutely BEAUTIFUL.  Know that.  Own that.  ;)

{We had 60 seconds} Mentoring Photography Classes in Wyoming + Montana

This little girlie’s mom came to visit me a few days ago.  She took part in a 1:1 mentoring session and we were able to shoot a little, then sit down, talk shop, work through my editing process in Lightroom and Photoshop, and relate as not only photographers, but as stay-at-home mom’s.  It was such a fun morning and I hope that you, Miss S, enjoyed it as much as I did!

I had all of 60 seconds to shoot the following images before the little miss decided she wanted no part of shooting in the scratchy grass – but regardless, I love how they turned out!  ;)

and how can I resist capturing a few of those seconds with mom???

Sandy, you are one insanely gorgeous mama.  I’m so happy to have met you and will be following you on your journey!  Best wishes!

{New Friends} Sheridan, WY + MT Photography Mentoring + Classes

I met up with a photographer from MT last weekend for a mentoring session, and I always walk away feeling so energized and excited about this business.  But even more, I get excited to see my students have things click, to get passionate and to expand their personal and business goals.  I love sharing my knowledge with others and helping other photographers grow.  I know from experience that getting education and expanding on what you already know truly does take your work to the next level.  None of us are done learning when it comes to photography, in fact, I believe with experience we get bigger dreams and want to develop as artists even more.

I believe that mentoring others helps me grow, and I also get to meet such incredible people along the way!!  Thank you so much, Lisa, for coming all that way!  You are going to be great and have big successes in your future!!

{A Little Sugar} Photography Classes + Mentoring, Wyoming + Montana

I had the pleasure of a mentoring a favorite client and friend over the weekend.  She drove several hours to come and learn, ask questions and prepare to get her own little business off the ground.  I am so excited for her and can’t wait to see what is in store for her!

1:1 mentoring is the perfect way to get exactly the knowledge, advice and critique that you need, without redundancy or the need to compete with other people for a shot or attention.  My time is all about you and I am an open book.  If you are outside the 100 mile radius of Sheridan, WY, please message me if you would like to set up a session.

{Surfacing} Sheridan, Wyoming Wedding + Portrait Photographers

03.10.11

It’s hard to believe it’s been well over a month since I’ve posted here, but life has been a bit chaotic.  I have blessed with meeting many incredible ladies through my mentoring sessions though, and have been spending time with my children, preparing for a move, and dealing with other life changes that have demanded so much of my attention.  But I am back, and so excited for Spring and to meet new and returning clients!!  The weather today is making it very hard to be patient – I can hardly wait for sandals and sundresses and time at the pool.  =)

I did want to share a little about my February workshop in Casper, Wyoming – I must say it was even more fun than I imagined and cannot wait to do it again!!!  I was lucky enough to meet 8 fabulous ladies and teach them all the ins and outs of camera buttons, gear, lenses, lighting, you name it.  It was such a blast, and next up on the books is Billings, MT!!  If you are in that area and interested in attending, please contact me – details coming SOON!

Here are a few shots from our day together.  The wind was blowing 30-40 mph and it was freezing, so we did quite a bit of indoor shooting around the house and braved the cold for only a few minutes.  I still think we got some good stuff though, and the day itself was incredible.  So grateful to all those ladies for coming out!

{Mentoring 1:1} Photography Mentoring + Classes Sheridan, Wyoming

01.19.11

Over the weekend I made a new friend from Montana – she came all the way here on a cold Saturday morning to learn from me, which was so humbling and flattering!  But the thing is, I got just as much or more out of it than even she did – it was such a great morning.  Sometimes you just discover those kind, hard working people that you just click with, and Jennifer was one of them!!  She is going to new places with her business and I cannot wait to see that happen!  We just spent time shooting together, working on exposure, backlighting and composition.  We didn’t get a chance to do any editing or Photoshop work, but in my opinion, getting your images to be spot on straight out of camera is the secret to beautiful editing anyway.  Photoshop and other editing software simply enhances what you’ve captured in camera.  Anyway, I have realized over the past year just how much I love to teach – I have had the privilege of working with so many wonderful photographers and I have grown myself through the process.  And now with the workshops coming up, I must admit I am SO EXCITED to take this new venture in 2011.

Speaking of the workshops, I am still booking for the CASPER WORKSHOP (click for more details) and will open registration for the SHERIDAN WORKSHOP next month.  I have a contact list that will receive all the info first – if you want to be in the know, send me a message and I will add you!  Thanks!

Thank you so much to Jennifer for coming all that way to hang out with me, shoot with me, learn from me and have a little fun on a cold winter morning!  And a HUGE thanks to this beauty for coming out to model for us and her mama for making it happen!!!  How could we get anything but incredible shots when we had this face to photograph?!!!  =)

{Chatty Cathy Workshop in Casper} Sheridan, Wyoming Photographers

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I have been a bit MIA for a while, soaking up time with my babies before heading back to this computer and diving in to all that is in store for 2011…and the diving is about to begin!  =)  First, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and that you are blessed in BIG ways in 2011!  I have some new ideas and plans in the works, and am excited to share them with you all as they unfold!  And there is a GIVEAWAY at the end of this post, so keep scrolling and don’t miss out!!!

A CHATTY CATHY WORKSHOP!!!

Here’s the scoop.  Earlier last year, I mentioned the possibility of doing a hands-on workshop for anyone interested in taking their snap shots to the next level, and learning how to better photograph their world, their lives and most of all their families and children.  I had a huge response, but wasn’t able to bring this together last year.  But 2011 is it!

The VERY FIRST ALISSA FERULLO WORKSHOP

is on the books!!!

This workshop is going to be held in Casper, WY, on February 26, 2011!

The workshop is already half full, with 6 spots remaining!!!  If you are interested, bring a friend, come to Casper, enjoy a day of fun, lots of shooting, answered questions and lunch.  Maybe you can make an overnight of it with your friends and return home to your family entirely refreshed (and ready to shoot some awesome pictures)!!

This first workshop is priced for the mom (or dad!) who wants to learn how to use their equipment, glean tips on how to find beautiful light, gain a further understanding of proper exposure, and so much more!

All Sheridan (& surrounding area) participants are required to sign a non-compete agreement.  This class is for those who want to gain experience for themselves, not for those who wish to start a business.

There will be some fun to be had.  =)

I will be an open book to you, willing to answer any and all of your questions and will help you take your knowledge to the next level!
